I also have a toy poodle, English Springer and 2 Cats. My poodle is my velcro and a part of my body! I never saw myself as a lap dog lover, but sometimes I wonder who I love more------My husband or my little Cali Mae? I'm pretty positive, he also wonders! My poodle thinks she is the Mother of one of the cats, she was with the Mommy when they were born. And made sure everyone knew that they were her babies. So of course we had to keep one for her. They all groom each other, play and sleep together. For sure they are my children.
