Dog rescue news brings a heartwarming story after a dog was trapped inside a sinking car. It all went down in Crawford in North Carolina and quick thinking by volunteer firefighters restored the pooch to its family. With just minutes to spare, the dog was saved but the owner was taken into detention. So, what happened and how did the pooch miraculously survive what would have been a tragic drowning? Read on to find out.
Some of the most heartwarming stories where animals avoid certain death involve firefighters. In fact, less than a month ago, one story out of Madrid resulted in the rescue of a pup that could have been in dire danger but for their actions. How it got itself trapped under a glass fence that enclosed a swimming pool isn’t known. Fortunately, it was saved after its head was jammed. If nobody noticed it, it could have been a lot worse.
Of course, dog rescue often involves other communities and volunteers who save animals from extremely dangerous situations. Did you know that in Alaska, a sled dog was found after being missing for three months in the wilderness? In that case, volunteers, search fund organizers, individual donors, and community members made for a happy ending. However, the kind-hearted folks who work as firefighters possibly come across more lifesaving situations than most people.
The Crawford Township Volunteer Fire Department shared their good news story on Facebook on June 12. The photos showed a lot of people were involved in preventing it from drowning. Almost a miracle that it actually didn’t die straight away, their efforts made for a happy ending. In the wee hours of the morning, a driver had crashed into a canal but managed to get out. However, the pup that was traveling in the car was nowhere to be seen.
The dog rescue happened when firefighters “heard a whimpering sound in the car.” Apparently, they heard the pup about 20 minutes after it ended up trapped in the upside-down motor vehicle. After that amount of time underwater, one might easily have assumed it drowned. However, the caption also said, “we recovered the dog under the dash floorboard where there was an air pocket.”
Those who participated in the dog rescue noted the fact that the dog seemed perfectly fine after its brush with death. Fortunately, there were other family members apart from the driver. So the pooch went home with them. Meanwhile, the accident in Crawford, North Carolina is being investigated..
