Kindness Ranch started taking in rescued dogs from research testing labs and in September last year, they topped over 100 of them. Mostly Beagles, an update in November revealed they had saved over 150 of them. Well, the work goes on to this day, and regular updates reveal more sad-eyed pups as they move into a brighter future.
There are plenty of rescue stories that come with happy endings. For example, late last month, TikTokkers saw a pup in Guam rescued by the Boonie Flight Project. The distressed animal had gotten its head stuck inside a jar. Obviously staving, the stay probably tried to get at something to eat. Fortunately, people who saw the pup reported it and she was saved from a slow death.
Another good news story came recently when another dog was in a car that ended up in a canal. The pup trapped underwater in an air bubble survived, thanks to sharp-eyed firefighters. But Kindness Ranch saves animals deliberately abused by research laboratories. In fact, they’re part of a special project called the Beagle Dream Team. Affiliated with the Humane Society of the United States efforts, they help to save and then find homes for the dogs. Not all of them can go to homes. But, they spend their lives in a place of love and comfort at the facility in Southeastern Wyoming.
At the end of June, a photo of one of the dogs arriving at the sanctuary revealed a sad-eyed dog. In the caption, it said, “Please say “Hello and Congratulations” to our newest arrival!” Then, they introduced “Collin…a sweet one year old male that is celebrating his retirement from research.” So, he was “on his way to Kindness Ranch to relax a little bit before finding his new forever home!”
In the comments of the post by Kindness Ranch, one follower said, “Hello handsome boy! You’re safe now! Life will be so good very soon. You deserve it! I’m sorry for the pain and cruelty you’ve been through with all of your brothers and sisters. Sending love, hugs and prayers. I love BEAGLES!❤️😢.”
This week, an updated photo revealed a dog named Jaden. The caption said, “Sweet Jaden and the rest of the beagles… getting used to the dog yurts and being able to play in the green grass and big yard.”
Kindness Ranch is also about the people who care for the dogs. They’re the ones who help them trust again. So, for many of them, seeing them change from timid research animals to being ready for a forever home is a major motivation. Fortunately, there are a lot of people who reach out to take in the dogs to make them part of their family. However, there’s always room for more folks to adopt, or donated to a good cause.
