It isn’t often that you get the chance to see handsome actor, talking about his beloved rescue dog. However, Chris Evans was recently interviewed about his new action rom-com Ghosted, premiering on Apple TV+ on April 21.

In the movie, Evans plays Cole, a guy who falls in love with Ana de Armas’ character, Sadie, before discovering she is a secret agent. Meanwhile, Ghosted is a reunion for the duo, who previously worked together on Knives Out in 2022. However, while hearing about the movie was exciting, Chris had a lot to say on a different subject, his rescue dog, Dodger.

For those who haven’t heard about Dodger, he features heavily on Evans’ Instagram and the two together are adorable. In fact, the cute dog also regularly comes up with conversations with the dog-loving actor.

In Good Morning America interview on Monday, Chris quickly bonded with host Robin Roberts over Dodger and his moving adoption story. It turns out that while filming scene at a dog shelter in Savannah, Evans wanted to know if these were movie dogs, or were they up for adoption.

When it was confirmed that the pups were available, he started doing the rounds. Meanwhile, in the last row of dogs, Evans discovered Dodger and it was love and first sight. He said, “I rounded the corner and saw him and just knew right away.” Meanwhile, Chris added that a total of seven dogs were rescued that day by crew members.

Speaking of his pup’s name, Evans explained that the reason for his name is that he was actually a street dog. He was a little orphan, much like the Artful Dodger, and Chris said he wishes he could say it was a Dickens reference.

Meanwhile, he had seen an animated movie, Oliver and Company, when he was growing up and the movie was based on the Charles Dickens story. In the movie, the dog that played the Artful Dodger kind of looked like Dodger.
