Any Dog Can be a Super Dog!

What transforms a dog into a super dog? For some people, it might be teaching their pup how to do the moonwalk and dance with them alongside their favorite tune. For others, it might be the ability to run into a burning building and save a child. However, the truth is that any dog – no matter whether your pup is a showcase star or a rescue canine, can be a super dog!

Dogs offer a lot more than just companionship and entertainment. If you already have a furry friend, the chances are that you’re already benefiting from it. After all, dogs help to reduce stress, enhance exercise, and make us live longer – what could be more super than that?

Dogs Help Us to Exercise More

Owning a dog motivates us to exercise every day. On those nights when you might be tempted to miss a workout, looking at your poor pup standing by the door can be enough to tempt you to grab your shoes and go for a quick run around the block. This increased activity enhances our health and ensures that we live longer!

Dogs Reduce Stress

There have been countless studies over the years proving that dogs can decrease stress levels. Playing with your dog, petting your dog, or simply hanging out with your furry friend can limit feelings of anxiety and discomfort.

You May Detect Cancer Sooner

Today, we use a dog’s incredible sense of smell for a range of different reasons, but did you know it can also be used for cancer detection? Many dog owners report their dog sniffing, nudging, or licking spots that have later turned out to be cancerous. An expected super dog could help to save your life in more ways than you’d think.

Dogs Limit Alzheimer’s Outbreaks

Not only can your dog help you to live a healthier lifestyle for longer, but he or she can also help you to grow old gracefully too. Dog ownership benefits people in a range of different ways. For instance, Alzheimer’s patients usually have fewer outbursts when there is a dog around, and caregivers of elderly patients report less stress.

Dogs Help to Promote a Healthy Heart

Finally, studies have shown that petting a dog can lower a person’s heart rate. Therefore, dog owners are more likely to have a healthy heart. In fact, some research has shown that dog owners are much more likely to survive heart-attacks compared to non-dog owners.

  • If I would have listened to my dog Vader I wouldn't have got hurt a year ago. He tried for 30 minutes to get me to stay home and I had to physically move him and run to the truck and 45 minutes later a machine took my finer off, so now when he does it I take a point. I learned my lesson.
