Annie Rose came out tops in a national voting contest among a varied list of candidates, including a hedgehog, llama and a bearded dragon. She follows in the footsteps of last year’s winner, Betty, a tiny tree frog from Florida.

What did Annie Rose win?

According to a press release from Hershey, which manufactures and distributes Cadbury chocolate in the US, Annie Rose will star in her own Cadbury commercial. She also took home an impressive $5,000 cash prize which should provide plenty of treats for the English Doodle.
Annie’s Rose’s owner, Lori Rahn, wrote in a Facebook post that she is “so in awe of the support, love, excitement and votes you guys gave us.”

“I also realized in this process, Annie is not a therapy dog to just nursing homes,” she added. “She is a therapy dog to all of us.”

Cadbury Bunny’s therapy duties

Annie Rose is much loved by residents at the nursing home. It turns out that even during the pandemic she still kept the residents happy. While the COVID-19 restrictions meant no visitors to nursing homes, Annie Rose didn’t give up. According to the statement from Hershey, “She worked even harder, dressing up and strutting her stuff outside the nursing home windows instead.”
