A happily married couple, played by Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston, find their life changes after they adopt a free-spirited pup named Marley. Along with his antics, the pup teaches the couple and their children important life lessons.

Rescued by Ruby was inspired by the true story of a K-9 search dog named Ruby. Playing second lead to Ruby is Grant Gustin, as the true-life Rhode Island state trooper and dog owner, Daniel O’Neil. The movie opens with the adoption of eight-month-old Ruby after five failed adoption attempts. Her adoption previously failed due to her hyperactivity, mainly due to her breed as part border collie and Australian shepherd. However, as time goes by, Ruby proves to be a vital asset and became one of the best K9 units on the team.

4. Dogs (Netflix docuseries)

This Netflix docuseries reveals why dogs are known to be man’s best friend and about the tight bonds they form with their caregivers. The series profiles people and their dogs, with stories from around the world, including Japan, Costa Rica and Syria. Each story proves the unconditional love a person feels for their dog. Viewers are taken on an inspirational journey to explore the remarkable qualities that give these animals a special place in most people’s hearts.

5. The Healing Powers of Dude (series)

Cast: Jace Chapman, Laurel Emory, Mauricio Lara, Tom Everett Scott and Steve Zahn as the voice of Dude.

Last but certainly not least, The Healing Powers of Dude is a truly heartwarming series about a boy and his four-legged friend. This family movie reveals an 11-year-old boy with a social anxiety disorder who must start middle school. He finds strength in a loveable comfort mutt named Dude.
