Rosaliia Raison, a refugee from Ukraine, has finally been reunited with her dog, Perseya at the San Diego Humane Society. The pair were separated at the US-Mexico border around a month ago. This was due to the fact that Perseya had to complete a 28-day rabies quarantine. Now, finally, Rosaliia and Perseya are together again. It is clear from photos and a video released by the San Diego Humane Society, that both are ecstatic to be reunited.

Meanwhile, Raison and her husband, who are from the Cherkasy region of central Ukraine, arrived in Mexico with Persaya. However, when reaching the San Ysidro Point of Entry, the Pomeranian required a 28-day rabies quarantine.
From there, Persaya was moved to the San Diego Humane Society to start her quarantine. Meanwhile, she also received plenty of care and attention from the staff.

Moreover, once her quarantine was over, Raison was able to collect her beloved dog. NBC quotes Raison, talking about their heartwarming reunion on May 29, while cradling her dog in her arms.
When I saw her, I felt her heart beating so much, so quickly. But now I feel she is better, she’s okay.
Meanwhile, Weitzman said, “Right now we are all bleeding from our hearts about what is happening in Ukraine.”
Having this beautiful animal here and being with her wonderful owner and to be able to bring them back together to start a new life in the United States is taking away a little bit of that pain from everyone.
Supporting pets from Ukraine
Meanwhile, the San Diego Humane Society is actively supporting Ukrainian refugees entering the US after Weitzman visited Poland with the Greater Good Charities organization. They provide veterinarian care and also help the International Fund for Animal Welfare establish a border crossing veterinary clinic. Meanwhile, their aim is to support pets impacted by the Ukraine war.
In their Instagram post, the Humane Society wrote there is nothing more moving than seeing a pet reunited with its loving family. Meanwhile, it turns out Persaya melted the hearts of the staff at the Behavior Center, quickly making friends and feeling at home during the separation.
Kudos to the San Diego Humane Society and everyone else involved in helping Ukraine’s refugees, both human and animal.
