Dog Behavior Research Reveals More About Pooches Scenting Ability

Dog behavior completely fascinates animal lovers. There are some that serve people with physical and mental challenges. Others visit people in the hospitals and cheer them up. Meanwhile, many pet owners believe that the animals empathize with them. Anyone who had a bad day at work can tell you how their pets made them feel better.

Dog Behavior Often Makes Folks Decide On A Breed

Each pooch is an individual and the different breeds each have something in their favor. Or, in their disfavor, depending on the type of furbaby that folks want. Some people want a pooch that will act as their child. Meanwhile, others just want a furry companion because they feel lonely. Very often, people will choose a breed because they know that it’s safe to have around small children.

Dog behavior and how humans interact with them was demonstrated by a teenager. One empathetic teenager adopted a deaf puppy. Actually, the pooch probably got along fine with the Michigan teenager because he is also losing his hearing. So, there are many things to be taken into account when taking on a pet. However, it seems that all breeds of pooches share one thing in common. Apparently, they can smell when people suffer from a lot of stress.

Dog Behavior Research Proves They Recognise Stress

When NBC news reported about dogs and their ability to scent stress, People Magazine shared it on Instagram. The caption said, “dog’s nose knows when you’re stressed, according to a new study, which found that dogs can tell the difference between a stressed human and a calm one by smell.” Actually, the researchers discovered it during a study at “Queen’s University Belfast.”

For some people, the Dog behavior study seems like a bit of a waste of time and money. But, it is nice in a way to know that what owners expected, has been proven beyond doubt. Actually, some people think that cats also smell their owners and recognize stress. In the case of the study, folks had to work out complex math problems. That’s enough to get anyone feeling anxious.

Animal Lovers Didn’t Need Research To Know

The researchers who study dog behavior could have probably just asked pet owners about it. Actually, in the comments of the Instagram post, a lot of people claimed that they already knew it. One of them said, “We know this!! If you have a dog you know its picking up on your feels, vibes etc.”

Others concurred and plenty of comments like this one arrived: “After this week in Naples, going through Hurricane Ian, I totally believe it. My golden retriever, Abby was my constant.”

Another owner wrote, “you sure didn’t figure this out just now right?”

What are your thoughts on dogs being able to literally smell your stress levels? Did you already know this? Sound off in the comments below.
