Dogs and cats always seem to be getting into trouble these days with many viral stories and TikToks doing the rounds. In the latest story, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Great Lakes is warning travelers to check their baggage before flying this Christmas. It is possible you may have a furry stowaway, refusing to stay at home for the holidays. In fact, the TSA has reported that a dog was accidentally sent through the X-ray at the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin.

Pet dog goes through TSA X-ray

The story first came to light on the verified Great Lakes region Twitter account for the Transportation Security Administration. Moreover, the TSA  wanted to share an unusual dog story and warn travelers to check their luggage before leaving home.

In fact, TSA reported that a dog was accidentally sent through the X-ray at the Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin, this week. Meanwhile, the problem was that the passenger and dog owner had not told the TSA about her canine co-passenger. Sharing images of the luggage and the X-ray of the pup, the TSA wrote:

When traveling with any animal, notify your airline & know their rules. At the checkpoint, remove your pet from the bag and send all items, including the empty carrier, to be screened in the machine.

Moreover, the TSA Great Lakes also shared a video revealing how best to travel with your pet to avoid a situation like this one.

There was no mention of whether the dog suffered any injury from its harrowing experience.

TSA finds orange cat inside checked bag

Admittedly, with the dog incident, its owner did want to travel with her pet. However, similar situation happened last month at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. According to the New York Post, the TSA officer discovered an orange cat inside a checked bag after going through the X-ray machine.

In this case, the traveler wasn’t intentionally traveling with the orange cat. According to a TSA spokesperson, the traveler told the officer that the cat belonged to someone else in his household. In fact, he had no idea that the cat was inside his luggage. It sounds like the orange cat was bored and wanted an adventure. Moreover, the TSA revealed a sense of humor while tweeting about the incident.

However, in comments on social media about the cat incident, people commented to say their pets had done something similar. Cats are savvy creatures and sense when you are traveling away from them. They figure the best thing to do is hop into your luggage to come along for the ride.
