An animal rescue center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is currently allowing people to adopt their rescue dogs for just $15.

A family in town decided to get another rescue dog from Companion Animal Alliance for their son, leading to a truly heartwarming moment.

With so many animals looking for a fur-ever home, TikTok user @the_crazyzoo decided to adopt a pit bull named Neil from the animal shelter.

In a clip dated March 9, they revealed their son gently reassuring the rescued pit bull that he is safe now and is much loved.

The mom, who wishes to remain anonymous, explained that her seven-year-old son was desperate for a dog of his own. In fact, he even saved up the $15 adoption fee from his pocket money.

The viral video explains that Neil was “seized from his owners because of abuse” and that he had cigarette burns all over his body. However, despite his past, when the rescue dog met his new family, he was so well-behaved, leading them to fall in love with him and take him home with them. Neil the pit bull is loved and is safe

As many dog owners know, it can take quite a while for a rescue dog to finally settle down in their new home and feel safe. His new mom wrote on TikTok, “My son wanted to reassure him that he would be loved and kept safe, and it melts my heart.”

Speaking to Newsweek, @the_crazyzoo explained the bond her son shared with Neil. She said they previously had two other dogs, but her son really wanted one of his own, adding: “He paid for Neil with his own money that he earned.”

Meanwhile, she explained that the rescue dog is settling in well and has become a part of the family. However, her son always reminds them that Neil is his dog and he takes care of him.

Since @the_crazyzoo posted the video on TikTok, it has attracted 1.6 million views, with 312, 000 likes. It was clear that the app’s users loved seeing how happy the boy and his dog are with each other.
