Dogs are known as man’s best friend, most of the time anyways. But, there are some dog breeds that are more attentive than others. The following dog breeds are commonly known to be affectionate, loyal, faithful and trusted.

American Staffordshire Terrier

American Staffordshire Terriers are the result of breeding a Bulldog with a Terrier such as a Fox and White English Terrier. These dogs are brave, energetic, loyal and dominant. In addition, American Staffordshire Terriers love nothing more than to please their owners and are always very obedient.

Beagle

Modern Beagles first originated in 1830 in Essex, Britain. These dogs are friendly, social and loyal. Beagles are great with children, making them the perfect family dog, although they easily become attached to their owners. According to the American Kennel Club, Beagles are the 4^th most popular pet breed in the United States. They make the ideal pet mainly because they are intelligent, devoted and friendly.

German Shepherd

German Shepherds originated from Germany and is the 2^nd most popular dog breed in the United States, according to the American Kennel Club. These dogs are known to be lively, agile, brave and strong. Also, they tend to form a strong bond with their human family, considering them to be part of their pack.

Saint Bernard

Most people can’t help but think of the movie, Beethoven, when they think of the Saint Bernard dog breed. The Saint Bernard is part of the working class breed of dogs that originated from Italy, France and Switzerland. They are known to be intelligent, affectionate, friendly and devoted.

Yorkshire Terrier

Yorkshire Terriers originated in the middle part of the 1800’s in Northern England. These dogs are intelligent, fearless and protective. They are also alert, affectionate and very loyal. These dogs are part of the toy breed of dogs, often weighing only between 4 and 8 pounds.
