It’s never easy when a pet passes away. This animal, who has been so much a part of your family life, is now gone forever. For many of us, the mourning period is extremely difficult as we attempt to come to terms with our loss.
Of course, one of the ways that people deal with death is by remembering the pet when they were alive. There are many great ways you can pay homage to your pet after they pass on. Here are just five small ideas that you may not have thought of before now.
1. Make their collar into a necklace
One of the only things that you will have to remember your pet by is their collar, so why not make it extra special? You could turn the tag from it into a cute necklace that you can wear with you all the time. All you need to do this is a piece of ribbon or a chain that you can slide the tag on. It will take about two minutes to complete!
2. Get a tattoo in memorial of them
If the pet was extremely close to your heart, why not get a tattoo in their honor? Many tattoo artists are talented at creating life-like portraits of animals for their clients. It may well be worth seeking out one of these artists and asking them to create a unique image just for you. That way, you can be sure that you will never forget your beloved animal!
3. Create a photo collage
For a less permanent memorial, you may wish to opt for the photo collage option. If you love taking pictures, this idea is perfect for you. Gather all your photos of your pet and make a cool collage of them. You can hang it in any room throughout your home as a reminder of the animal you love so dearly.
4. Create a small shrine in your home
Building on the last idea, you may wish to take things one step further. Why not create a shrine to your animal in your home? You could dedicate an entire corner or area of your house to pictures and memorabilia of your pet. So, whenever you look at the area, you will be reminded of how much you adored the animal.
