Bonnie, a beagle-mix rescue dog, escaped from home and went on an adventure. However, a man, who found her on his way to a dog show, took her with him, until he could track down her owner. Due to this, the proud pup ended up going home with a yellow rosette, after winning third place in a dog show.

Recently, Bonnie, a five-year-old beagle mix, escaped from her home in Bolney, West Sussex in England. This led to her owners raising the alarm about their lost pet, including a Facebook post in a lost dog group.
Meanwhile, John Wilmer, spotted Bonnie by the side of the road later that day. He was taking his two pups to a dog show in Felbridge. However, he had already seen the lost dog post on Facebook made by Paula Closier, Bonnie’s human.
Wilmer told the BBC that he was in a “bit of a rush” to get his dogs to the event, so when they found Bonnie, they put her in the car. Wilmer added that she was such a lovely dog, he thought it would be good to enter her in the show.

John did say he had left a note on Facebook to let the Closiers know Bonnie was safe. Meanwhile, the cute beagle mix dog went on to come third in the rescue dog class at the event. The Good Samaritan said he was pleased she did so well.
When Bonnie first disappeared, the Closier family started searching the surrounding area, with no luck. They then put out an appeal on social media. Paula Closier said they were so thrilled she was found safe and well and was even a winner. She added, “You couldn’t make this stuff up.”
Closier went on to explain that they were frantic as they live right by the main road. She added that Bonnie used to be a street dog and they were concerned she wouldn’t have known how to come back.
Meanwhile, Paula updated her lost dog message on the Horsham and surrounding area animals lost and found Facebook page. She wrote:
*Update, she was not only rescued but in this process, went to a dog show and came 3rd before returning ** (photos here with her rosette).

Bonnie was rescued in the streets of Crete, Greece by a charity four years ago. She then became the Closier family dog. Meanwhile, Paula added:
She’s had such a full life. When John brought her back to us with a rosette we couldn’t believe it. It’s a shame she didn’t come first in the show.
