TikTok: Deaf Bull Terriers Go Viral After Their Human Signs ‘Treat’

Two amazing bull terriers have gone viral on TikTok after their human posted a clip of the dogs understanding sign language. Most dogs with disabilities handle them very well, but PeeWee, a bull terrier, takes things to a different height. In fact, he is now famous for understanding his human mom’s sign language. This isn’t the first time a TikTok has gone viral while relating to a deaf dog. In fact, a teenager with hearing loss recently adopted a deaf pit bull mix. Moreover, another story relating to a blind dog claims that canines can “see” using their highly sensitive noses.

Fast forward to now and two hearing-impaired bull terriers have been taught to understand limited American Sign Language. A video shared to TikTok by user @deafdogofmn has recently gone viral with 10.4 million views at the time of writing.

Canine lovers know that treats are an important part of their fur babies’ lives. Meanwhile, one of the two deaf bull terriers, named PeeWee immediately understood when his human signs to ask if he wants treats.

PeeWee and his foster sister, Faith, are sitting at the bottom of the stairs in their human’s home. It turns out their human dad is upstairs and has treats for them. Both sit patiently, gazing at their human mom, waiting to see what she signs. The woman looks at the dogs while she signs the words “treat”, “dad” and “go” before pointing up the stairs. PeeWee immediately understood and dashes up the stairs with his sister, Faith, trailing behind.

As previously mentioned, the TikTok video clip has been viewed an amazing 10.4 million times. On top of this, it has 1.1 million “likes” and 2,625 comments.

This isn’t the first time @deafdogofmn has attracted such views. In fact, she has almost 200,000 followers who love to watch her bull terriers’ understanding of sign language. While PeeWee is getting proficient, she is also teaching Faith sign language. So far, the female bull terrier understands “kennel”, “spot” and “down.”
