Who said that only man is a dog’s best friend? Obviously, dogs have much love and loyalty for their human companions. But in reality, it seems dogs have a hidden talent for befriending other animals too. This is evident in this wholesome video that tells the story of Coconut the dog. The sweet animal made friends with an unlikely companion. Best friends are hard to forget but seemingly easy to find for Coconut the dog.
Everyone knows that dogs make great pets and are loyal to their humans. Internet users gushed over a recently trending story on Good Morning America about “Good Boy” Dash the English mastiff. He kept his mini-human company during his timeout. At the time, the little boy, Payton, aged three, was in trouble for hitting his sister and was sent to timeout. Luckily his mum, Jillian Smith, had her phone nearby to snap a pic of Dash keeping Peyton company throughout his punishment.
In October, a short video clip shared on Twitter melted the hearts of people across the globe and reached over two million views. Cue heart-warming music as a giant dog approached a teeny puppy and attempted to teach it how to play ball. Who knew such a big doggo could be so gentle with his tiny best friend? Perhaps there’s a lesson to be learned by humans in that situation.
Recently, The Dodo shared a video clip of Bubba the cat, a friendly feline who joined in on a family walk with Coconut the dog. For some reason, she just decided she wanted to stay in touch. The morning after their encounter, Bubba arrived at the back door of Coconut’s house. There, she sat meowing for Coconut to come out for a walk. Initially, the family thought the kitty belonged to one of the neighbors, but it turns out she was a stray that lives in the area. Bubba took a big liking to Coconut and now, she joins in for daily walks.
Coconut’s owner was amazed that Bubba often comes running from a neighbor’s house to join in on their walk. Much to Coconut’s excitement, Bubba sometimes hops the fence and comes into the yard to visit her new best friend, despite the family cats not appreciating the intrusion! Coconut’s owner explains “I think they are looking for
some love and companionship and I am really happy that they found each other.”
The video was well-received by viewers, with over 269k views and 620 comments in just 24 hours. Many fans encouraged the family to adopt Bubba. After all, the other cats might get used to her presence in time. A comment from Ethan Emerson hit 400 likes when he joked, “Rule 1 of cats: you don’t adopt the cat. The cat adopts you.”
Do you think the family should adopt sweet Bubba? Post your opinion in the comments below.
