Many dogs are up for adoption across the US, but a disabled or senior dog rarely gets a chance at a new home. However, one couple truly made a difference in a senior German shepherd’s life by giving her a chance. Meanwhile, not only did they rescue her, they are receiving so much love in return.

Adopting a senior dog

Throughout the country, many dogs are available for adoption or, sadly, end up in kill shelters. However, a disabled or senior dog rarely gets a second chance in life. In fact, those looking to adopt realize their care can be expensive and complicated. Now, the good news is that one senior German shepherd dog has found a new and loving home.

A TikTok user, @juliamignault of Montreal, Canada has two German shepherd dogs. One was already living with them, and the other is a senior dog that she and her partner rescued. In a recent video on TikTok, Julia explains the conditions the dog was kept in prior to her rescue. Apparently, the eight-year-old dog was kept in a crate 24/7 and felt “sad and lost.”

Nowadays, they are more than happy that they adopted the pup who is now happy and loving. In fact, they take her everywhere they go so she can find out what life is truly about. The couple gives her comfort and protection and she gives them unconditional love and gratitude. Happily, she also gets on well with their four-year-old German shepherd, Seth.

The beautiful senior dog is certainly an amazing addition to their family.

TikTok users leave heartwarming comments

Since the TikTok video of the senior dog was posted, dog lovers are reacting to the story of the dog’s adoption. Some noted how great senior dogs are in general with one writing, “Senior dogs are so loyal and loving.” Another follower wrote, “I love German shepherds, they always give the love back to you.”

Other commenters praised the couple for their selflessness, writing “You are lovely people. God bless you, always.” Another commented:

She’s such a good girl. Thank you, and love to you for all you do for this wonderful creature.
